Global Leaders Across Business and Government to Assemble in Tokyo for 2027 Bloomberg New Economy Forum
Ninth edition of Bloomberg New Economy Forum to examine the forces reshaping trade and investment and Japan’s evolving role as a catalyst for global capital flows and technological progress
NEW YORK/TOKYO, October, 14th, 2026 – Bloomberg New Economy today announced that it will convene leading figures across finance, government and technology from Japan and around the world in Tokyo in November 2027 for the ninth edition of the Bloomberg New Economy Forum (the “Forum”). The 2027 Forum will offer a critical platform to probe the forces reshaping global capital and Japan’s increasingly pivotal role in the world economy.
The 2027 Bloomberg New Economy Forum will bring together influential voices from across business, finance and government to examine key shifts in the global economy, explore emerging challenges and opportunities, and assess the broader implications of Japan’s economic evolution, both for the nation itself and for future global prosperity.
“Next year marks 40 years since our company opened a Tokyo office, one of our very first offices outside the U.S., so it’s a fitting time to bring the New Economy Forum to Japan,” said Michael R. Bloomberg, founder of Bloomberg L.P. and Bloomberg Philanthropies. “Japan is a global leader in technology, manufacturing, investment, and innovation, and we look forward to welcoming the Forum’s global community to Tokyo in 2027.”
“What’s happening in Japan deserves global attention. Not only has the country escaped decades of deflation, creating new economic momentum for the first time in a generation, it’s changing in even more profound ways,” said Erik Schatzker, Editorial Director of Bloomberg New Economy. “Japan is reasserting itself as a center of deep-tech innovation, a model of energy pragmatism, a source of critical investment capital and a linchpin of Asia-Pacific security. There’s no better place to bring our next New Economy Forum”.
Since its launch in 2018, Bloomberg New Economy has convened heads of state, CEOs, investors, entrepreneurs and policymakers from around the world, creating a platform for cross-border dialogue at a time of profound economic and geopolitical change.
The ninth edition of the Bloomberg New Economy Forum will take place during November 2027 in Tokyo, Japan. Further details including venue, agenda highlights and registration information will be announced in the coming months. For the latest information, please visit https://www.bloombergneweconomy.com/.
