About
Bloomberg New Economy
Our Mission
A New Vision for Bloomberg New Economy
Bloomberg New Economy was established in 2018 to embrace the historic shift in economic power from West to East and from North to South, a shift rooted in demographics, propelled by globalization and accelerated by digitization. Not only would the world’s emerging markets account for an ever-greater share of growth, the development gap would shrink with improvements in education, access to technology, and increased trade and investment.
The road ahead was full of promise but also doubts and complexities. We set out to find answers by bringing together the best of government and private enterprise from across the globe. And we’ve succeeded–at Bloomberg New Economy events in Singapore, Beijing, Panama City, Dublin, Marrakesh and Sao Paulo, through our industry coalitions and with our Catalysts program. Our community of current and former heads of state, senior ministers, heads of multilateral organizations, multinational CEOs, founders, board chairs, investors, financiers, innovators and activists has grown to number more than 1,500.

Our mission is to confront the greatest challenges to global prosperity and drive dialogue towards solutions.
Now, as the great-power rivalry of the 21st century plays out between the US and China, with incalculable consequences for Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe and the Americas, that effort has become more relevant and more urgent. Geopolitical risk is scrambling supply chains and capital flows. It’s forcing multinationals to overhaul strategies and countries to fortify defenses. It’s invalidating the assumptions that have guided business and finance for decades.
This uncertainty is what Bloomberg New Economy was built for. Our mission is to confront the greatest challenges to global prosperity and drive the dialogue toward solutions.
We engage, inform and motivate the people whose decisions shape the world. We convene discussions that provoke imagination, extract insights and catalyze action. We inspire our community to scale innovation and mobilize capital for the public good. We create networks of ideas across cities, companies and countries. And we welcome the support of commercial partners who share our thirst for understanding, our passion for open, informative debate, and our resolve to tackle hard problems.
