As the region’s digital landscape rapidly evolves—spurred by post-COVID initiatives—the healthcare sector is on the brink of a transformation similar to those seen in banking and travel. We will explore how cutting-edge digital tools are improving patient care, driving market growth, and fostering new collaborations, especially within the unique LATAM healthcare market. Trade and Infrastructure in Latin America: Setting Foundations for Growth

This roundtable — hosted by the Bloomberg New Economy Dynamic Cities Coalition and featuring Sao Paulo Secretary of Urban Planning and Licensing Elisabete França, Gerando Falcões Founder & CEO Edu Lyra, and MIT Senseable City Lab Director Carlo Ratti — will explore successful partnership models at the municipal level to outline a playbook of dos & don’ts that can help stakeholders optimize the massive increase in social and infrastructure investments that the world requires.

Charting a Path for Clean Hydrogen:

Accelerating Policy Breakthroughs and Public-Private Collaboration.

There is no doubt that clean hydrogen has the potential to help decarbonize hard-to-abate sectors, such as steel and shipping. However, scaling the technology continues to face hurdles; chief among them the need to stimulate demand and secure long-term offtake agreements for suppliers. Without innovative and accelerated policy support and breakthroughs, and a focused and practical approach to public-private collaboration, the promise of clean hydrogen will be significantly delayed. Fortunately, there are glimmers of hope as countries and industry move the ball forward: Brazil recently launched the first phase of its Hydrogen Law; Singapore is testing innovative offtake structures with suppliers; and the U.S. hopes its Inflation Reduction Act will help spur demand.

Please join public and private leaders from the BNE Climate Technology Coalition and from across the region to discuss how to better design and advance policy measures that leverage industrial innovation and make the future of clean hydrogen a reality across Latin America and beyond.

This session is hosted under Chatham House Rule.
